Our team has hosted the charity golf tournaments at the Silverhorn Golf Club. I really can't say enough good things about Tiffany and Jedon at the club. Our team work hard but party of the success is due to the flexibility and kindness of these two people. They make our lives easier. Tiffany anticipates our needs which is awesome. And the course is lovely. Appropriately challenging. The renovations to the club house have given the atmosphere a good kick up. And everything is reasonably priced. That's why we keep coming back for our tournament.
Will never play here again, on Saturday February 17 started play in very cold weather 42 degrees with chill factor of 38 degrees. They charged us $108.00 for the round. This course has no amenities, no GPS, no water on course, no ball wash and until recently no scorecard. After nine holes in the bitter cold we asked for a raincheck for nine holes, but we were told no, since it was not raining. We asked why under such terrible conditions they would not reconsider; especially at at over $100.00 a round. We were told too bad. In my opinion this is not a welcome place to play golf, very over rated not to mention poorly run.
This is a true golfers golf course. If you are tired of Alamo courses then Silverhorn will not disappoint! Tees for every golfer’s ability. Great staff, great greens and fairways. Only thing from getting 5 stars is I wish they would go back to providing on course water stations. And last but not least, there membership rates are fantastic.
General Manager is extremely rude and passive-aggressive. I was told I wouldn’t be charged after cancelling membership, they charged me the very next day. I had to go to my bank for help because they charged my card without my authorization. I have emailed the superintendent and they have yet to respond (not holding my breath)
I had previously rated this course 5 stars but in an unfortunate turn of events, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SILVERHORN any longer. Very poor customer experience. What a shame because the course is nice if we’re being honest.
If I could give zero stars I would. Greens have not been taken care of, horrible drainage issues, cart path is nothing but water and mud. Charging over $100 play in a mud hole is not fun. People were taking divots out of the greens! No water coolers, restrooms, or ball washers. Worst course in the Alamo Trail.Save your money.
Overall the course was outstanding! Great Shape! Staff and water young lady was very friendly! 1st time playing this course and we were not disappointed. It is a tough course, but we enjoyed it! The only thing I would do is add water coolers for players every 3 holes. 👍🏼 …
Don't waste your money. Priority is given to "regulars" at the course. Had a 7:40am tee time and got told we were behind pace of play on hole 10 after waiting for a group ahead of us from the get to and almost pelleted by the 3 some behind us while on the green putting. 4.5hrs is pace of play and we finished within 4 hours and not once were we behind pace of play with a 4 some. Will never come back and my whole 4 some team plus whoever we know will never come back here. Horrible service from the pro shop/ marshal staff. Only plus side was the cart attendent Lexi who was extremely nice. Unfortunate because the course is fun but the management here sucks and we got swindled out of $400 and rushed on something that should be fun and enjoyable. Should be a full refund of the whole day.
Edit:
GM called to speak about email that was sent, similar to review. Whole conversation was about how "he" was the one who kept us on pace because we were late to hole 10. My bad, didn't know we couldn't have a bathroom break. Makes no sense when we still finished the course within the pace of play time and at the turn we were already ahead of POP. Instead of trying to talk over customers and belittle them with the "I did you a favor" mentality why not actually have customer service skills, listen to the issue and maybe not be pompous and arrogant when trying to difuse a situation you created! Like I said, and I hope it gets to everyone, don't go and play here keep your money or pay a few dollars extra and play at Canyon Springs or one of the Munis.
My group and I are never returning to this course again after realizing Silverhorn does not have ANY water stations or ball cleaner stations. The ownership’s excuse to having no water stations is “COVID protocols”. I’ll take my money elsewhere.
Also, they give you a small sack of driving range balls that you have to Pay for 😂. What a sorry excuse, do better.
Ownership - spend the extra $4000 and invest in water stations, ball cleaners, and include driving range balls into the green fees.
Keep this up and you’ll “nickel and dime” yourself out of business ✌️
